The Unspoken Bond of Brotherhood

Guys have a unique way of interacting.  While most are reserved regardless of the situation in showing any type of care, or let's just put it in lamen's terms - a "give a damn", it don't mean that they actually don't care.  They just reserve emotions toward their buddies  until it is actually needed.

Tonight I witnessed that as I was leaving the gym.  i had went to the local gym and had been there for a little over an hour.  And while I was in there, there were many coming and going, but a couple of guys that you could tell were good friends were working out together, and laughing and cutting up, but still getting in that serious workout.  They were both there when I arrived, and had left a few minutes before I called it a night.

When I walked out into the parking lot, I noticed both of them over in a corner of the lot, outside of their vehicles talking.  Not all that unique for friends, or at least in our part of the country.  I wasn't trying to eaves drop, but the wind was carrying their voices  fairly well, and as I reached my vehicle  which was about 75 feet away, I overheard one say to the other "...man, there's no need to worry, everything will be just fine..".  I had no idea what the exact subject matter was, and since it was no business of mine, I continued to get into my truck and close the door.

The  way out of the parking lot caused me to have to circle around the area where they were.  And as I drove by, the guy that I had overheard telling the other to not worry  - and let me tell ya, he was not the picture of a person that anyone expect an ounce of care or consolation - was had his hand on his friend's shoulder and as i continued to circle, I see him take his friend into a hug, and his friend appeared to be crying.

Now, again, I have no clue what I had just witnessed, except for this.  People tend to over analyze what actual friendship between to guys is actually like.  Society wants us all to think that if two guys hang around each other a lot, or show the signs of true friendship, well, they must be "weird", and society screams that they are homosexuals (gay).  Not necessarily so, and this is true more times than not.  Sometimes the trust between a guy and his best friend can be stronger than with anyone else in their lives.  It's about trust, camaraderie, and being brothers (not just another friend).

Good friends are good friends, and two guys that are true friends can possess a bond that is unbreakable, and just like tonight can be friends working out together in a guy for  an hour and a half, and then one has an issue that he told his best friend about, and that other friend was ready to jump through hell-fire and whatever else to make sure that his buddy was going to be alright.

It's going on two hours now, since I seen those friends talking.  And who knows, that conversation may still be going on right there in that parking lot, and continue on into the morning hours.  I have been there and done that very thing with more than one friend - and I've been on both sides of that conversation.

There is nothing like brotherhood between to best friends!
